Return to AD&D Central Hardbacks | Boxed Sets | Accessories | Accessories - Campaign Building | Guides | Modules A-G | Modules H-I | Modules L+ | Modules - Unlettered BROWSE MY AD&D ITEMS CURRENTLY IN STOCK Encyclopedia Magica series, 1995 & 1999 printings. Covers: Leatherette/Bible with ribbon bookmarks vs. Paperback. The Magic Encyclopedia Volume One The staplebound MAGIC ENCYCLOPEDIAS (1992-3) were collections of AD&D magic items, with gold piece values and source. Usually this was a TSR product number. The Brazier of Fire Elementals has a code of 2100, which is the 2e Dungeon Master Guide. Some TSR releases had a Letter/Number code, which is here called the Designator. FR5 is The Savage Frontier for Forgotten Realms. There was also a few illustrations per page. Volume 1 has entries "Abacus to Goblet", and Volume 2 Goggle to Zwieback. This was not noted in the front cover graphics. The use of product codes in the listings prompted a seemingly unrelated 5-page section in the beginning, a complete TSR product list... EVERYTHING, not just AD&D. TSR's Lazer Tag game, Marvel Super Heroes, calendars, Boot Hill, you name it, everything published by TSR through 1992 is in the list. The list is organized by organized by TSR product code, the 4-digit code unless the product had a alphanumeric code assigned. So the Conan RPG is found under its code of 7014 and Slave Pits of the Undercity is found under its Designator of A1. I used this code list as a primary source back when I was first creating this website in 2003, when there was very little information available online regarding some of TSR's more esoteric product lines. -Wayne "All AD&D game campaigns have one thing in common - treasure. Of course, some campaigns have more treasure than others, but it is the lure of treasure that entices intrepid adventurers of any world away from the warmth and safety of home and hearth and sets them plunging into labyrinthine depths or into the uncharted wilderness to face fearsome beasts. To an adventurer, the most prized treasure of all is magic. Open this book and you will find a concise listing of every enchanted item ever invented for TSR, Inc.'s fantasy role playing games. The list in Volume One runs from Abacus to Goblet. The listing includes an experience point value and a gold piece sale value for each item. At last, you'll know exactly what every bauble in any hoard is really worth. No need to keep guessing. The listing also identifies the product where the item is described and the page number where you can find it. A complete list of those products (current through December, 1992) is also provided. Ever wonder what a phylactery is? Do you know what a diadem looks like or how a chaplet is worn? Don't wonder anymore! This book also contains an illustrated description of each kind of item." 1992 ... Connie Henson & Dale "Slade" Henson ... 64 pages ... TSR 9293 ... The Magic Encyclopedia answers these questions with succinct definitions of every type of item found in a magical treasure hoard, and every definition has an illustration. The list of definitions in Volume Two runs from Goggle to Zwieback, and completes the list begun in Volume One. The listing includes an experience point value and a gold piece sale value for each item. At last, you'll know exactly what every bauble in any hoard is really worth. ISBN 0786916117 Check Wayne's Books Inventory Monstrous CompendiumAt the introduction of AD&D 2nd Edition in 1989, TSR took the radical step of not selling a hardcover monster manual. This had always been a part of AD&D's holy trinity of PHB, DMG, and MM. Instead they sold a three ring binder - the Monstrous Compendium - to be supported by years of expansion sheet releases. The reality was that a monster manual would be inevitably joined by a monster manual 2 and 3. Monsters would be scattered throughout many modules and accessories over the years. A binder was a strategy to cure this problem. Three hole punched sheets were sold in the packs of the MC-series and added to iconic AD&D box sets until 1993-4. In the end, TSR went back to a hardcover: The Monstrous Manual. -Wayne BROWSE MY MONSTROUS COMPENDIUMS CURRENTLY IN STOCK Monstrous Compendium Volume One (MC1) "What's a fantasy role-playing game without monsters? From the dream-stalking bastellus to the body-snatching doppleganger plant, this horrific tome contains a great assortment of creatures that will haunt the nightmares of player characters for years to come. In addition, this book presents over 20 unique creatures, including the living brain of Rudolph Von Aubrecker and the dreaded night hag Styrx, all of whom are perfect for use as master villains and NPCs. TSR is proud to present this compilation of diabolical beings from the first two MONSTROUS COMPENDIUM appendices dedicated to the RAVENLOFT campaign setting. First released in 1991 and 1993, these collections have been unavailable for some time, but always in demand. Now they're back - at a price that's lower than the combined price of the two earlier products. No RAVENLOFT campaign is complete without this book." 1996 ... William W. Connors ... 128 pages ... Drawn from our best adventures of 1995 - not to mention the award-winning Dragon, Dungeon, and Polyhedron Magazines - this annual also marks the return of many old classics and introduces some nifty new critters! More than 100 denizens of the land, sky, sea, and Outer Planes are ready to sneak, storm, or wheedle their way out of these pages and into the nearest adventure. These creatures, many of them from the Forgotten Realms, Birthright, Ravenloft, Dark Sun, Al-Qadim, and Greyhawk settings, are looking for new worlds to conquer. This collection features a full, combined index to the Monstrous Manual Tome and all three annuals." 1996 ... 128 pages ... TSR 2166 ... Oh, some bashers might say they're deadlier, or harsher, or just plain weirder, but this truth is, they're merely different. And on planes full of nothing but searing magmas, swampy ooze, glittering mineral, utter desolation, or life incarnate, is it any wonder that a body'd find creatures as alien as any the multiverse has ever seen? Things that eat color, leaving a victim fully transparent. Beasts that spread life like a virus, animating all things around them. Spirits that form bodies by forcing hundreds of smaller animals to act as one. It's enough to make a sod long for a pit fiend. Liven up any PLANESCAPE or AD&D campaign with the MOSNTROUS COMPENDIUM Appendix III, which features 128 pages of monsters that lurk on the Inner Planes, the Astral Plane, and the Ethereal Plane - some of the strangest and most inhospitable environments in the multiverse. Most of the critters are brand new, though a few old favorites have been updated. This book also provides a detailed look at the ecology of the planes in question, not to mention an appendix of inner-planar creatures that're more like animals than monsters. And, of course, all-new illustrations vividly bring each of these exotic beings to life." 1998 ... Monte Cook ... 128 pages ... TSR 2635 ...
