It seems that weapons conversions are a favorite pasttime for game-fan writers. I suppose that I am no different.
2300AD was saddled with a rules set that today would be regarded as a "Beta" version. Traveller: The New Era benefitted from experience gained from GDW's prior games (MegaTraveller, Twilight: 2000, Space: 1889, and others) and had one of the more elegant rules systems that I have yet seen. Conversion from 2300AD to TNE is a snap, and can be done off the cuff by a referee familiar with the rules.
This Microsoft Word file was a labor of love on my part, even to the point of scanning and including the weapons diagrams from the original rules. I tried to include small arms from supplements, as well as a few of my own creations. Click here to download
2300AD Kafer Weapons converted to TNE
The Kafers were probably one of the most detailed and "realistic" alien races created in science fiction. Through their sourcebook, and referenced in many other 2300AD works, the Kafers became more than men-in-funny-suits.
The Sung never got as much "screen time" as the Kafers. But this leaves some room for creativity in this interesting alien race. Click here to download
